*While* [*a resurgence of COVID-19 cases*](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/mar/18/covid-resurgence-uk-infections-record-older-people-vaccinations?ref=europeans.today) *is under way across the entire United Kingdom and the Office for National Statistics (ONS) estimating that almost 5% of the population in England (1,544,600 people) had COVID in the week ending 12 March, the government is totally absent as COVID tests are about to end on 1 April.*
