Kirk shooting dominates public attention in Britain, YouGov poll shows
A YouGov poll shows Charlie Kirk’s shooting significantly captured the UK public’s attention last week, surpassing concerns about immigration, domestic politics, and global conflicts.
The shooting of American commentator Charlie Kirk was by far the most recalled news event in Britain last week, according to a new YouGov survey. Conducted on 14–15 September with 2,145 adults across Great Britain, the poll asked what people had heard about most in the news over the past week.
The findings show that 38% cited Kirk’s shooting, placing it far above all other stories. By comparison, the next most-mentioned news item — Peter Mandelson — was recalled by only 12% of respondents.
