🎉 Nine years of independent journalism: Our story, our readers, our future
Europeans TODAY marks nine years of independent journalism since Brexit, having survived crises and reinvented itself while championing truth, democracy, and diversity.
T oday marks a special milestone for us: nine years since our magazine was born in 2016, in the turbulent aftermath of the Brexit referendum.
Since then, we’ve walked through history with you — navigating political earthquakes, the uncertainty of the COVID years, and even surviving a hacking attack that wiped out all our work from 2016 to 2022. Each setback only strengthened our resolve to continue.
Along the way, we evolved in name and scope: from PMP Magazine, to Public Square UK, and now, proudly, Europeans TODAY — a title that reflects who we are: a pro-European magazine open to the world, built on values of unity, democracy, diversity, and progress.
We are proud of what we stand for:
- Fighting fake news with facts.
- Promoting equality, human rights, and social responsibility.
- Bringing expertise, quality opinion, and analysis to help readers understand the world they live in.
- Defending democracy against apathy and alternative facts.
Over the past nine years, our audience has grown to tens of thousands of daily readers worldwide, supported by thousands of loyal members and newsletter subscribers.
To our members: you are the heart of our magazine. Your support keeps us independent, open, and free for all. We consider you not just readers, but partners in our mission.
But quality journalism isn’t free — and we refuse to compromise our independence by relying on billionaires or shareholders. That is why we turn to you, our community. Every one-off donation or regular membership helps us publish fact-checked reporting, expert long reads, and fearless opinion pieces — all free to access for everyone.
Looking ahead, our focus remains clear: to inform, to educate, and to empower. Together, we will continue to build a platform that values depth of understanding over superficial headlines, citizen response over manufactured narratives, and truth over distortion.
From Brexit to today, through crises and renewal, one thing has never changed: our belief that some stories must be told — and that together, we can keep independent journalism alive.
Thank you for standing with us. Here’s to the next chapter of Europeans TODAY.
