A controversial U.S. delegation visit to Greenland, led by Usha Vance and soon joined by her husband, Vice President J.D. Vance, has drawn sharp criticism from Greenlandic and Danish leaders.
“Speaking for President Trump, we want to reinvigorate the security of the people of Greenland because we think it’s important to protecting the security of the entire world,” Vance explained in a video shared on X.
The delegation, which includes U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Energy Secretary Chris Wright, is touring a U.S. military base and attending cultural events. However, the timing and presence of top security officials have ignited suspicion.
